Zoönomia, in cooperation with a specialized law firm if necessary, took care of regulatory issues related to the maintenance of animal species within the zoos along with the necessary permissions under the laws in force in the Italian territory (and abroad).

In the case of the decree relating to the Zoological Gardens (73/2005), an expression of the EU Directive 1999/22/EC, Alessandro Bortolotto has directly followed the procedure for the preparation and subsequent submission of the application to the competent authorities for different facilities and in particular:

Zoomarine Italy (2005), Palablù Gardaland (2008), Gardaland Sea Life (2008), Sea Life Jesolo (2009), Oltremare Riccione (2010), Merlin Sea Life Rome (2011) (in addition to other ongoing practices).

He also served as a consultant in preparing all documentation for applying to European Association for Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums (AMMPA) standards in selected facilities.
